Family and Consumer Science 1
Family and Consumer Science 1 courses are inclusive studies of knowledge and skills that are useful for the efficient and productive management of the home. Course topics typically include foods and nutrition; sewing; child development and care; consumer decisions and interpersonal relationships. Career exploration and leadership development will be emphasized throughout the course.
Family and Consumer Science 2
In Family & Consumer Science 2, students will further develop many of the skills they learned in FACS 1 or 2 such as child development, machine sewing/fashion design, interior design, foods, and personal relationships. Students might sew a piece of clothing, further their cooking skills, create a floor plan of a house, take home and care for an electronic child, and expand their knowledge of career paths.
